Automate Your Texting with Zapier
Pony Express HQ connects to Zapier, linking your SMS to thousands of other apps — your CRM, spreadsheets, forms, help desk, and more. No code required. The integration is currently rolling out by invitation.
What is Zapier?
Zapier is an automation tool that connects your everyday apps so they can talk to each other. You pick a trigger (something that happens in one app) and an action (something that happens in another app as a result), and Zapier handles the rest, no developers required.
Connect Pony Express HQ to your CRM, spreadsheet, help desk, or virtually anything else in Zapier's directory of 9,000+ apps, and let your texting workflows run themselves.
Zapier terminology
FAQ
Before you get started, Zapier uses some in-house terminology you'll want to know: a Zap is an automated workflow made up of a trigger and an action. A trigger is an event that starts the Zap. An action is what happens as a result.
The Pony Express HQ Zapier integration currently supports:
Triggers (these start a Zap when something happens in Pony Express HQ)
New Incoming Message: fires when a contact texts you back.
New Contact: fires when a new contact is added to your organization.
New Subscriber: fires when a contact opts in to your messages.
New Opt-Out: fires when a contact opts out, whether they text STOP, you mark them in your dashboard, or it comes in through the API.
Actions (these do something in Pony Express HQ as a step in your Zap)
Send SMS: sends a text to any phone number, creating the contact automatically if it doesn't exist yet.
Send Broadcast to Group: sends a campaign message to every contact in a group, right away or at a time you schedule.
Create or Update Contact: creates a contact, or updates the existing contact with the same phone number.
Add Contact to Group: adds a contact to a group or keyword list, creating the contact if it's new.
Remove Contact From Group: removes a contact from a group or keyword list.
Opt-Out a Contact: marks a contact as opted out so they stop receiving messages.
Search (this looks something up in the middle of a Zap)
Find Contact: finds a contact by phone number.
