Accessibility statement

How Pony Express HQ approaches accessibility across our website, customer dashboard and embeddable signup widget, what we know still needs work, and how to tell us about a barrier.

Last reviewed: September 29, 2026

Our commitment

Pony Express HQ, INC. wants everyone to be able to use our products, including people who use screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice control, keyboard-only navigation or other assistive technology.

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. We treat accessibility as ongoing work: we fix problems as we find them and review this statement as the products change.

We do not use an accessibility overlay or widget that rewrites our pages in the browser. We fix issues in the code and content itself.

What this statement covers

  • This website, www.getponyexpress.com, including the blog, guides and free tools such as the SMS cost calculator and character counter.
  • The customer dashboard at app.ponyexpresshq.com, where customers manage contacts, send messages and handle billing.
  • The embeddable signup widget, the opt-in form customers place on their own websites so people can subscribe to their texts.

Where a customer embeds our widget or links to us from their own website, the rest of that website is theirs, and its accessibility is their responsibility.

Known limitations

We know about the following gaps and are working on them:

  • Older blog posts. Many posts were moved over from our previous website. Some include screenshots of text, and one includes an animated screen recording that plays without a pause control. We are adding text descriptions and replacing these as we find them.
  • The customer dashboard. Some complex views, such as data tables, dialogs and the message composer, are still being reviewed for keyboard focus order and screen reader announcements.
  • Third-party services. Some tasks happen on services we do not build ourselves, including the demo booking calendar, the help center and payment checkout. We choose providers with accessibility in mind, but we cannot fix their pages directly. If one of them blocks you, contact us and we will help you another way.

How we test

  • Automated checks. Every change to this website runs automated accessibility checks with axe against every page of the site, plus checks for missing image descriptions, for text colours that fall below WCAG AA contrast, and for form fields whose outline or placeholder text is too faint.
  • Manual review. We review key pages and flows by hand, using only a keyboard and with screen readers such as VoiceOver on macOS and iOS and NVDA on Windows.
  • Your reports. Feedback from customers and their subscribers goes straight into the same list of fixes.

Automated tools find only part of the problems that affect real people, which is why the manual review and your reports matter.

Signup widget conformance report

A conformance report for the embeddable signup widget, describing how it meets each WCAG 2.1 AA success criterion, is available on request. Email support@ponyexpresshq.com and ask for the widget conformance report.

Feedback and contact

If you run into a barrier on anything this statement covers, or you need information in a different format, please tell us:

It helps to include the page address, what you were trying to do, and the browser and assistive technology you use, but none of that is required.

We aim to reply within 2 business days. If a fix will take longer, we will tell you what we plan to do and help you complete your task another way in the meantime.

Changes to this statement

We review this statement at least once a year and whenever we make a significant change to the products it covers. The date at the top shows when it was last reviewed.
