Contact groups
Split contacts into groups by building, grade, location or interest so a message reaches only the people it applies to. Unlimited groups, no per-list charge.
Groups split your contacts into lists (by building, grade, location or interest) so a message reaches only the people it applies to. There is no limit on how many you create.
Why this is the feature that keeps a list alive
Every unsubscribe has the same root cause: someone received a message that was not for them. Not too many messages in the abstract, but too many irrelevant ones.
A property manager sending roof-work notices for Building C to the tenants of Building A is teaching those tenants to ignore the next message, which might be the fire alarm test. A school sending the varsity schedule to kindergarten parents is doing the same thing more slowly.
Groups are the cheapest fix available, and they cost nothing to use.
How people organise them
- By place: building, campus, branch, district, route
- By relationship: active members, lapsed members, staff, volunteers, VIP customers
- By what they asked for: the keyword they used to join, which does the sorting for you
- By timing: last visit, last purchase, service due date
A contact can sit in several groups at once, and sending to overlapping groups will not text the same person twice.
Getting contacts in
Three routes: CSV import from a spreadsheet, the web opt-in widget on your own site, or a keyword that adds people to a specific group when they text it.
Unlimited groups, unlimited contacts, and no per-list or per-contact fee. You are billed for messages sent, and nothing else.
